As a result of this commitment, PCC Melrose Park Family Health Center was recognized by the Chicago Area Breastfeeding Coalition (CABC), which presented Dr. Tamajah Gibson and her provider team with the 2016 Breastfeeding-Friendly Physician Award for their outstanding support of breastfeeding mothers and babies.
Chicago, IL – The PCC Austin farm will be hosting Women and Herbs, a free community workshop on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to plant their own seedlings, learn about how to use herbs for health and wellness, and tour the farm.

Oak Park, IL - PCC Austin Produce Market's fifth season begins on Tuesday, June 2 with a new twist: organically grown produce grown on-site by PCC Community Wellness Center (PCC). Instead of simply telling patients to eat well, the community health center is providing easy access to produce within the Austin community. Produce grown on the farm will be harvested and sold at the market. First harvest picks will include mustard and collard greens, kale, radishes, lettuce, and scallions.

These fresh vegetables are harvested locally, from the PCC Austin Farm. 10/28/11 PCC is proud to be pink

Chicago, IL - National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is recognized annually throughout October, reminding PCC Community Wellness Center of their commitment to women’s health and the importance of the “pink” services they provide. Some of the services PCC provides to uninsured and underserved women in Westside Chicago and the near west suburbs are breast cancer education, instruction on self- breast exams, and routine clinical breast exams. PCC is a proud partner of the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP).
Oak Park, IL - The first newborn cries were heard in the Birth Center at PCC, Illinois’ first free-standing birth center, as two families welcomed their babies on the rainy fall morning of October 18. Sophia Azalia, daughter of Delilah Noyola and Ivan Ramos was the first baby born at the birth center, located at PCC South Family Health Center in Berwyn. Less than one hour later, Natalia and Roberto welcomed their son, Ryland.
Chicago, IL - Yesterday PCC Community Wellness Center (PCC) held a groundbreaking ceremony for its latest project to improve health outcomes—the PCC Austin Community Farm. Located in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood in an 8,000-square-foot lot across the street from PCC Austin Family Health Center, the farm was made possible by a $350,000 grant from the Humana Foundation. PCC is partnering with the Chicago Botanic Garden, which will provide participants from its urban agricultural program, Windy City Harvest, to install and maintain the farm.
Chicago, IL – PCC Community Wellness Center joins Norwegian American Hospital and other local agencies to welcome evacuees from Puerto Rico needing assistance finding community and health care services. They are welcoming evacuees in the Humboldt Park Field House’s Hurricane Relief Center. PCC has a welcome table set up, ready to provide evacuees with referrals for primary care, oral health care, behavioral health care, and healthy housing. PCC Announces New President and CEO

February 20, 2019—PCC Community Wellness Center will continue to operate its PCC Melrose Park Family Health Center, despite the recent announcement regarding Westlake Hospital’s proposed closure. The clinic, located within Westlake Hospital’s Professional Office Building, has proudly served the Melrose Park community since 2012. While PCC does not yet know whether they will be able to continue to lease space in their current location over the long-term, operations will continue as is through at least June 30, 2019. If Westlake Hospital closes, as proposed, PCC is committed to finding new space for the clinic in the Melrose Park community.
September 5, 2018—PCC has become aware of an increase in opioid overdoses due to the striking increase in patients presenting to West Suburban Medical Center for opioid reversals. PCC encourages people struggling with opioid use to enter treatment. Treatment is readily available at PCC’s Chemical Dependency Clinic.

PCC is ready for school physicals

CHICAGO, Ill. – Many school children are just beginning their summer break. But it is not too early to schedule physical exams for their return to school in the fall. PCC Community Wellness Center (PCC) provides low-cost school physicals at PCC Austin and PCC Lake Street Family Health Centers.
April 2, 2019—PCC Community Wellness Center recently opened its twelfth health clinic, PCC Parkside Family Health Center, expanding affordable health care access to more residents on Chicago’s West Side. The new clinic, located at 115 North Parkside Avenue in Austin, offers family health care, women’s health and prenatal care, pediatrics, behavioral health and substance use treatment, as well as referrals to dental care at nearby PCC sites. Like all of PCC’s clinics, PCC Parkside accepts all patients regardless of their ability to pay.
July 30, 2018—Dr. Penny White, pediatrician at PCC Community Wellness Center (PCC) is accepting new patients at two PCC health centers in Chicago’s Austin area. As a pediatric physician, she can care for babies, children, and teens. Services include well child exams, immunizations, treatment for minor or chronic illnesses, lead screening, and school physicals.

This incident has highlighted the recent increase in violence towards Asian Americans. While we recognize that hatred and racism are systemic in American society, we are outraged by every act of violence, every abuse, every injustice.
