Paul Luning, MD, MPH

Chief Medical Officer, Paul Luning, MD, MPH has spent his entire career at PCC. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Yale University, his medical degree from the University of Chicago – Pritzker School of Medicine, and a Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He joined PCC in 1995 after graduating from West Suburban Medical Center's Family Medicine Residency Program. He later completed PCC’s Fellowship in Community Medicine. Dr. Luning was promoted to Chief Medical Officer in 2007. He has been instrumental in the development and implementation of many programs at PCC, such as the Performance Improvement Program and PCC’s clinical program at The Boulevard, a local shelter for homeless individuals recovering from illness. He has received numerous honors and awards including the Distinguished Service Award from the American Academy of Family Physicians and Illinois Academy of Family Physicians, Teacher of the Year from the West Suburban Family Medicine Residency Program (2003, 2007, 2012), and George O'Neill Leadership Award from the Illinois Primary Health Care Association.

Mary Sommers, MPS, LPM, CPM, IBCLC

Mary has supported mothers and their families since 1983. She received a masters degree in public service from DePaul University, contributing to her administrative skill set.

Amy Willen, CNM

Amy Willen received her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2004 and has since attended births as a nurse-midwife in several settings including both large and smaller hospitals, free standing birth centers, and homes in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Amy believes childbirth is a normal process and loves being able to tailor her midwifery care to support women's choices no matter what setting they choose to give birth in. Amy enjoys traveling internationally and has worked as a midwife in Uganda and Tanzania. She loves learning new languages and is fluent in Spanish. Committed to providing care to underserved communities, Amy is a member of the National Health Service Corps.

Katherine Wehrmann, CNM

Katy Wehrmann is a certified-nurse midwife who joined PCC in 2013. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Biology at North Park University, she completed her Master of Science in Midwifery at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing in 2013, graduating magna cum laude.

Ryan Tuscher, DDS

Dr. Ryan Tuscher, D.D.S. serves as PCC’s Dental Director. She joined PCC in 2011. As director, Dr. Tuscher provides clinical leadership to ensure quality patient care, develops dental goals, and oversees the recruitment and retention of the staff. In 2009, Dr. Tuscher graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago – College of Dentistry, where she serves as an adjunct faculty member. She completed residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she remains a member of the medical staff. She is highly experienced in performing preventative, restorative, and emergent dental care for adults and children. Her remarkable enthusiasm for her patients and the Dental Department contributes to the success of PCC’s Oral Health Program.

Christine Swartz, MD

Dr. Swartz is a family medicine physician who joined the PCC health care team in 2008. She earned her medical degree from the University of Vermont College in 2005 and completed residency at the Medicine Central Maine Medical Center. Dr. Swartz serves as PCC’s Medical Director of Electronic Health Records.

Lizbeth Rodriguez, MD, FAAFP

Dr. Lizbeth Rodriguez is a Family Medicine Physician, Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and Medical Director of PCC Salud. She received her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC-COM) and completed her residency at West Suburban Medical Center/PCC Salud Family Health Center in 2017.  She has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science with minor in psychology and biochemistry from DePaul University. Her professional interests include full-spectrum family medicine, underserved and women's health, procedures, and teaching. Dr. Rodriguez is fluent in Spanish and her hobbies include jigsaw puzzles, hikes and traveling.
