Berwyn, IL – The Birth Center at PCC welcomed its 100th delivery on Sunday, June 12. Baby Sawyer takes the honor of being the 100th baby born at the Birth Center at PCC. Brittani Chodl and her wife, Mary, welcomed Sawyer with the support of Sawyer’s older sister, Mia, and great-grandmother.
Oak Park, IL - The first newborn cries were heard in the Birth Center at PCC, Illinois’ first free-standing birth center, as two families welcomed their babies on the rainy fall morning of October 18. Sophia Azalia, daughter of Delilah Noyola and Ivan Ramos was the first baby born at the birth center, located at PCC South Family Health Center in Berwyn. Less than one hour later, Natalia and Roberto welcomed their son, Ryland.
Berwyn, IL - On Tuesday, September 20, 2011 PCC Community Wellness Center celebrated the grand opening of the newly relocated and expanded PCC South Family Health Center, along with Berwyn civic officials, local business owners, community board members, as well as PCC staff, family and friends. PCC South Family Health Center represents a $4 million investment through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Facility Investment Program. This facility was designed to meet the requirements for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) silver certification, from the U.S. Green Buildings Council. Berwyn Mayor, Robert J. Lovero, was in attendance at the event, and addressed that healthcare is a growing business, but that we are short on community health facilities. He stated that PCC is “answering a need in the community” and personally thanked PCC, Pat Thompson architect for the architectural firm Manske Dieckmann Thompson, and Madison Construction Company Inc. for their vision, and “what they have done to make this beautiful creation”. Katy Wehrmann is a certified-nurse midwife who joined PCC in 2013. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Biology at North Park University, she completed her Master of Science in Midwifery at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing in 2013, graduating magna cum laude.
Dr. Ryan Tuscher, D.D.S. serves as PCC’s Dental Director. She joined PCC in 2011. As director, Dr. Tuscher provides clinical leadership to ensure quality patient care, develops dental goals, and oversees the recruitment and retention of the staff. In 2009, Dr. Tuscher graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago – College of Dentistry, where she serves as an adjunct faculty member. She completed residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she remains a member of the medical staff. She is highly experienced in performing preventative, restorative, and emergent dental care for adults and children. Her remarkable enthusiasm for her patients and the Dental Department contributes to the success of PCC’s Oral Health Program.
Dr. Sivasubramaniam completed her residency at PCC as part of the West Suburban Family Medicine Program. After graduating from Northwestern University, she earned her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago – Stritch School of Medicine.
Annette Payot provides leadership to PCC's Midwives as the Director of Midwifery. She is a certified nurse-midwife and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner who joined PCC in 2009. Annette completed her nursing and midwifery education at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2007.
Justyna Klatka joined PCC in 2015 as Dental Clinic Administrator. Justyna has over ten years’ experience in oral health care with demonstrated progression in roles and responsibilities.
Katherine Herold is a certified nurse-midwife who completed her midwifery training at the University of Illinois at Chicago – College of Nursing in 2011.
