Now Open… PCC’s New Austin Family Health Center

PCC is proud to announce that the new PCC Austin Family Health Center is now open. Our state-of-the-art PCC Austin Family Health Center is located at 5425 W. Lake Street in Chicago, just six blocks east of our old facility. This new facility continues to offers primary healthcare and supportive services such as behavioral health counseling, nutrition classes and health education. The new PCC Austin Family Health Center is one of the most environmentally friendly community health centers in the country. The facility is expected to meet requirements for a “silver” level LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

 
PCC Gala Raises Funds for new Austin Family Health Center

PCC Community Wellness Center’s first gala, An Evening of Glam & Green: Celebrating New Beginnings in Austin, was held on June 3, 2010 at Carnivale restaurant in Chicago. This amazing event featured music by Orchestra 33, a grand raffle and silent auction. Dr. Kathy Walsh was awarded for her many years of generous service to PCC. Ginger Zee, NBC5 meteorologist and environmental reporter served as Mistress of Ceremonies. The event raised over $40,000 and all the proceeds benefited the new PCC Austin Family Health Center.

 
PCC Celebrates the Grand Opening of the new PCC Austin Family Health Center

On February 27, 2010, PCC hosted a grand opening ceremony for the new PCC Austin Family Health Center. Over 150 guests attended the ceremony including elected officials, State Senator Don Harmon, U.S. State Senator Richard Durbin, State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, Mayor Richard M. Daley, Alderman Ed Smith, State Representative Deborah Graham, and Cook County Commissioner Earlean Collins. After the ribbon cutting ceremony, guests took self-guided tours of the new facility.
