Our History
PCC Community Wellness Center was founded in recognition of a need for community-based health care services for the medically underserved living in Chicago’s westside communities.  Originating in 1980 as the Parent Child Center, PCC consisted of a three-room clinic inside West Suburban Hospital that offered prenatal, postpartum, and infant care to underserved women and children living in the Austin community.  In 1992, PCC Community Wellness Center was incorporated as an independent, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and attained the status of a Federally Qualified Health Center in 1994.  Since then, PCC has grown to encompass nine health center locations that offer comprehensive care and support services to the westside communities of Chicago and the near west suburbs.
